Our IDA+PLUS accredited Structured Literacy Intervention connects oral to written language skills; including phonological awareness skills, decoding, morphology, and self-regulating strategies in writing.

Areas of oral and written language that include social and academic difficulties in:

-Reasoning
-Problem-solving
-Self-advocacy
-Decision-making

Our services support neurodivergent-learner needs, including story and event-telling, comprehension, and Gestalt Language-based therapy.

Gestalt Language learners develop language skills in chunks rather than individual parts. This may sound like familiar songs or repeated phrases that have been memorized in one space and spoken in other spaces.

Executive function skills include maintaining attention to tasks, flexibility, and impulse control.

Independent hygiene and everyday routines may be noticeably difficult in learners still developing these types of skills.

-Childhood Apraxia of Speech
-Being understood clearly
-Speech-sound milestones
-Phonology/sound patterns, including phoneme collapse and severe speech disorder

Strength-based services with whole-person planning.

Communication and language needs are unique to each person; regardless of behaviours, delays, or a diagnosis.

Pacific Rim Speech prioritizes creating a safe space for your cultural identity, stories, and experiences to be heard. We welcome collaborative planning in healthcare models that align with you. We also enjoy shared assessment or intervention planning with Psychologists and other healthcare providers for complex learner needs, such as: FASD, Autism, ADHD, trauma, and Developmental Language Disorder.
